2nd-grader’s artwork chosen
Harmar Elementary School announces that Aleah Brooker, grade 2, has had artwork chosen to be exhibited in the 2014 Ohio Art Education Association’s Young People’s Art Exhibition. The exhibit represents Ohio students in grades kindergarten through eighth and is on display at Rhodes State Office Tower in Columbus from March 2 to 28.
One hundred twenty-nine pieces were selected for the juried show from the nine regions of the state that represent OAEA. The exhibit is sponsored by the Ohio Art Education Association which is the professional organization for art teachers in Ohio. OAEA works to promote the arts and recognizes quality student art throughout the state through various exhibits at state and regional levels. The Young People’s Art Exhibition comes about through many volunteer hours by art teachers in the state of Ohio. Brooker’s artwork was submitted for the show by Julie C. Brewer, art educator at Harmar and Washington Elementary Schools. A reception and wards ceremony will be held at Rhodes Office Tower on Saturday, March 15, for the young artists, their families and teachers.
