Our Mission is to partner with churches, companies and civic-minded Host Sites to provide families and individuals with affordable food and to make a difference in your community.

Regardless of income level, most of us are searching for value and money saving ideas to stretch our food dollars at home. The family food budget is one of the largest costs in a household. Our food boxes offer a unique solution to cutting household costs without sacrificing food quality.

Smart Choice Food packs and ships the boxes from Cincinnati. This major distribution hub is centrally located for host sites in the eastern and middle U.S. regions. It allows us access to massive amounts of high-quality food and allows us to ship at very competitive rates. This process allows our “Smart” box to nutritiously feed a family of four for almost a week or a senior citizen for nearly a month.

These food boxes are not a hand-out but an opportunity for those who want to stretch their dollar. The “Smart” box contains over 20 pounds of nutritious, top quality food and may include beef, chicken, seafood, sometimes pork, vegetables, fruit, snack items, juices and other items. This box of food could cost $60 to $80 or more at a local grocery store.

“Smart Choice” food boxes are offered through local Host Site locations – such as faith-based organizations and churches, companies, outreach or community action programs. Any type organization, non-profit or for profit, may participate as a Host Site.
