Lifeline of Ohio recognizes Camden Clark

Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkesrburg was among several institutions and individuals honored Saturday, March 8, by Lifeline of Ohio for their roles in saving lives through organ, eyen and tissue donation. The event was held at the Polaris Hilton in Columbus.

Awards were presented by the federally designated organ procurement organization at “An Evening with the Stars.” Each award was introduced by a local individual whose life has been impacted by donation. Among the presenters were a donor family member, organ and tissue transplant recipients, a parent whose child is a candidate waiting for a life-saving organ transplant and an individual whose loved one died while waiting for a transplant.

A total of 17 institutions and individuals were honored at the event.

Camden Clark was named Hospital of the Year for its “outstanding collaboration to support the mission of donation.”

In addition, Camden Clark’s Marketing Department was named Public Relations Department of the Year for the “comprehensive support of a hospital public relations and marketing department in promoting organ donation.”

Lifeline of Ohio Organ Procurement (LOOP) is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and coordinate the donation of human organs and tissue for transplantation. Lifeline of Ohio is approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as the designated organ procurement organization (OPO) serving 37 counties in Central and Southeastern Ohio, and Hancock and Wood counties in West Virginia. Lifeline of Ohio provides services to 71 hospitals through its transplant coordinators. LOOP’s clinical staff is on call 24 hours a day to coordinate the recovery and transport of tissue and organs for transplant.
