Zonta Club tours mortuary museum

Peoples Mortuary Museum recently hosted the Zonta Club of Marietta. After their monthly meeting at the Lafayette Hotel, members were invited to drive to the museum at 408 Front St. for a tour of the facility, personally guided by owner Bill Peoples.

Upon arrival, Peoples greeted the group. He explained some of the history behind the collection. In an open discussion format, guests were encouraged to ask questions about articles on display, automobiles in the collection and any pertaining to the funeral profession in general.

A magnificent horse drawn hearse from 1895, Packard hearses from 1940 and 1938, and a stunning 1927 Henney hearse were currently on display. They have several Packard sedans that are often on display, or may be seen driving around the streets of Marietta.
