Teen earns Eagle Scout rank
Tobin Isaac Little, 17, of Winfield, W.Va. completed the requirements and earned the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America, the Eagle Scout Rank on Dec. 9, 2013. Little’s Eagle Scout Service Project was performed at his church where he designed and led the construction, finishing, and installing of three sets of wooden shelves for the bus garage. Tobin is a member of Troop 164 in Eleanor, W.Va. chartered by Eleanor Presbyterian Church. His Scoutmaster is Shawn Rayburn and Assistant Scoutmaster is Markel Fertig. Tobin’s parents are Skip and Donna Little. His grandparents are Wayne and Becky Sloter of Vincent, Ohio, and Larry and Patricia Modz of West Monroe, La.
Little is a member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s National Honor Society. He has served as his Troop’s Senior Patrol Leader during which time he wrote and incorporated a Troop Code of Conduct. He has also served as his Troop’s Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Scribe, Order of the Arrow Troop Representative, and Chaplain’s Aide. He also served as a Den Chief and was awarded the Den Chief Award.
Little is a Junior at Winfield High School where he has a 4.0 GPA. He is a member of the National Honor Society. He participates in the marching, concert, and pep bands and has been selected to be in all-county and all-area bands. He is also active in the FUEL Bible Club at Winfield High School.
Little is an active member of Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He is involved in the AWANA Journey Youth Group where he has received the Meritorious Award. He sings in the adult and youth choirs, is a member of a teen quartet, and regularly sings solos. He also plays solos on his trombone for special music during church services.
The Eagle Scout Court of Honor will be held at Teays Valley Missionary Baptist Church with a reception.
