MHS grads awarded Kiwanis scholarships

Three 2014 Marietta High School graduates received scholarships from the Marietta Kiwanis Club during the school’s annual senior awards assembly.

These scholarships were awarded based on significant contributions to both the Key Club and Marietta High School. Students apply for the scholarships, which were open to Key Club members with a grade point average of 3.0 and above.

This year, Justin Warner received the $1,000 Les Noe Memorial Scholarship for his outstanding service to the community through Key Club. The annual scholarship was established in 1995 by Virginia Noe to honor her late husband’s service as a Kiwanian.

Warner is a four-year member and served as president for the past three years. Warner plans to major in psychology and neuroscience at The College of Wooster in the fall. He is the son of Ron and Susan Warner.

Jillian Schwendeman and Katelin Wolfe both received $500 scholarships. Schwendeman is the daughter of Mark and Beth Schwendeman and plans to major in biomedical engineering at the University of Tennessee.

Wolfe is the daughter of Daryl and Kathy Wolfe and plans to major in middle childhood education at Otterbein University.
