Warren handbell choirs will present concert today
The Warren High School Handbell Choirs will present their spring handbell concert “FINALE XXVII” at 7 p.m. today in the high school auditorium.
This year will be a special event as the bell group from Warren Elementary and Little Hocking Schools will be joining Bells I, Bells, II and Bells III in their mass numbers. They will be opening with “C Major Peal” by Doug Wagner and closing with “Proclamation” by Kevin McChesney. The Warren Elementary choir will be performing “Didn’t My Lord Devier Daniel” arranged by Anna Laura Page and “An American Medley” also arranged by Anna Laura Page.
The Little Hocking Handbell choir will play “Canon” by Pachelbel arranged by Hal Hopson and “Joyful Rhythm” by Kevin McChesney.
The Beginning Bells I group will also be performing “All Night, All Day” arranged by Susan E. Geschke, “Gioioso” by Tim Waugh, “Prelude and Dance: by Judy Hunnicutt and “With Timbrel and Dance” by Margaret R. Tucker.
The Intermediate Bells II group will be ringing “Climbing Jacob’s Ladder.”
Sondra Tucker, Canticle by Arnold B. Sherman, “When I Casn Read My Title Clear” arranged By Anna Laura Page and “Clocks” arranged by Keith Richards.
The Advanced Bells III will be ringing several arrangements of Keith Richards, an alumni of the choirs and the TAG Coordinator of Warren High School. Some are “Michael Jackson Medley” and “Let It Go”.. They will also play “Percussive Alleluia” by Michael Joy and “Now the Green Blade Riseth” by Kevin McChesney.
The concert is free and open to the public. All schools play on Malmark English Handbells. Mary Margaret Nuzum is the director of the high school handbells and vocal music. Lori Flesher is the director of Warren Elementary and Melinda Morgan is the director of the Little Hocking bells.
