Williamstown Lions Club to host July 4 breakfast

The Williamstown Lions Club will be hosting their annual July 4th pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. in Tomlinson Park on Highland Avenue in Williamstown.

This event, held annually on Independence Day, is one of the primary fund raising events for the Williamstown Lions Club. The funds raised are used in the local community. Some of the funds go towards community improvement projects. Most recently, the club restored all of the picnic tables in the shelter where the event is held. In years past, funds have been used to assist with the construction of the restroom at the southern end of Highland park, and the construction of the city’s swimming pool.

Funds are also used to help prevent blindness, a core initiative of all Lions Clubs. A portion of the money raised at the breakfast will help pay for eye exams and eye glasses for many local residents of Williamstown.

People attending the event are also encouraged to bring any old eyeglasses which are no longer needed. Lions Clubs have been actively collecting used glasses for many years to be used globally to help many be able to see more clearly.

The cost is $5 for all of the pancakes you can eat. Pancakes-which include traditional, buckwheat, and blue berry, sausage, coffee and orange juice will be served.
