Student awarded Medical Mutual scholarship
Medical Mutual of Ohio recently honored graduate Jamie Davis, a Marietta student from the Computer Graphics program at the Washington County Career Center with the Medical Mutual of Ohio Scholarship for $500. Davis received this scholarship during the Career Center’s Senior Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 20, which was held at the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center at Marietta College.
Davis is the daughter of Greg Davis of Marietta and Diana Heiss of Marietta. At the Career Center, Davis was a member of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) youth organization where she held the office of vice president. Additionally, she was a member of the Career Center’s National Technical Honor Society, student council, Interact Club, and she was the class secretary in her program. Davis was a Career Center student ambassador both her junior and senior year. She received awards for All A’s principal list, All A’s and B’s honor roll, Outstanding Computer Graphics Student, Outstanding English Student, and Outstanding Government Student. During her junior year, Davis participated in the BPA Regional Competition, in Steubenville, where she placed third in Desktop Publishing. In Computer Graphics, she earned the IC3 certification for Computer Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online. Davis was crowned Prom Princess during this year’s Career Center prom held this month. Computer Graphics instructor, Rhonda Knoch, commented on special traits and roles that Davis carries such as hard working, friendly, and a team player.
Davis plans to attend Washington State Community College in the fall and then transfer to either Shawnee State or the University of Northwestern Ohio to obtain her bachelor’s degree in health care administration.
