Art show features Fleming resident
An art opening of religious works by David Anderson of Fleming is scheduled for Oct. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Artsbridge office located at 925 Market St. in Parkersburg. The event is free and open to the public.
Anderson is a 1980 graduate of Warren High School. From fifth grade at Barlow-Vincent Elementary through 12th grade at Warren High School, Anderson was an art student of Sandra and Sylvia Young. In 1990 David attended a sketch class at Marietta College.
Anderson has adopted the medium of art as both a hobby and also as therapy. Art was a safe avenue by which he could express his feelings, thoughts, and emotions, and he feels along with his faith in God and Jesus Christ, art delivered him from an illness he has battled for over 30 years.
Anderson uses the media of pencil in his drawing and acrylics in his paintings.
His drawings and paintings express his faith and love for God.
He has a passion for telling others his story about his journey spiritually and emotionally.
He attributes his progress to his faith and his emotional and mental health to his ability to express himself through his art.
The exhibit will also be available for viewing during regular Artsbridge hours throughout the month of October. Office hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
