Photographic Society awards
The Marietta Photographic Society recently held its annual awards banquet for the 2016-2017 club year. The end of year competition was judged by Robb DeCamp with entries submitted by members of the club that had gained acceptance throughout the past club year as well as up to five additional photos submitted per member.
Awards were presented as follows: Print of the Year Shirley Morrison, Runner-Up Carole Wigal. PDI of the Year Steve Minardi, Runner-Up Kathy Lough. Cell phone Print of the Year Vickie Ford, Runner-Up Vickie Ford. Most Creative Photo of the Year Steve Davis, Runner-Up Paul Frye. Robert Gerke Nature Photo of the Year Ken Wyant, Runner-Up Mark Abbott. Enhanced Print of Year Steve Davis, Runner-Up Shirley Morrison. Tom Grimm Still Life award Shirley Morrison. Max Carr High Points Award Ken Wyant.
The Marietta Photographic Society was founded in 1950 by John Chorpenning, Judge Sauer, S. Durward Hoag, and Bob Ley. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Gilman United Methodist Church and are open to anyone interested in photography.
