NEW MATAMORAS — The Frontier High School Chapter of the National Honor Society inducted nine new members Nov. 9, continuing a tradition that was established in 1970. The ceremony was held in the Hank Morus Gymnasium, in front of the entire student body and staff as well as inductees’ families.

NHS membership is earned through the effective demonstration of scholarship, leadership, service and character. Nineteen students were eligible based on grade point average and state assessment results. Thirteen of those eligible applied, and nine were accepted by the five-member faculty council after considering input from all high school teachers who reviewed and rated applications.

New members are Sophia Brown, Abigail Eddy, Jared Farnsworth, Katen Petty, Isabella Rinard, Katelyn Rinard, Kylie Ruble, Ashton Rush, and Kristen Winstanley. These students join second-year members Kylie Daugherty, Samantha Farnsworth, Ryan Lamp, Alexis Scadden, Brent West and Alisia Winstanley. The group’s adviser is Holly Cunningham.
