Community Crew

December 2017

Churchtown Community Crew held their meeting on Dec. 3, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. John Central School. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Haley Tornes. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Owen Schaad and the 4-H Pledge was led by Elle Casto. Roll call was to what you want for Christmas. The minutes from last meeting were read and approved. The song “Birdie Song” was led by 4-H campers. A devotion “Pattern” was given by Ethan Poulton. A treasurer’s report was given by Jaslynn Casto. A health report on preventing the flu was given by Katie Schaad. A safety report on Christmas tree safety was given by Averi Schwendeman. For recreation, the club wrapped Christmas presents.

Old Business

4-H camp dates are available online. Jr. Fair Board applications are due. The club received first place for the fair booth award.

New Business

Pins will be handed out next meeting. Cloverbud graduation will be at the next meeting. A motion to donate a gift card to Kelley Hughes for donating supplies for the poster and booth and helping was made by Maddie Wells and seconded by Emma Poulton and it passed.

Refreshments were brought by everyone. Meeting was adjourned by Ethan Poulton and seconded by Maddie Wells. The next meeting will be held Jan. 7 at noon at St. John Senior Center.

Churchtown Community Crew held their meeting on Jan. 7, 2018 at noon at St. John Senior Center. The meeting was called to order by Maddie Wells. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mylee Lang and the 4-H Pledge was led by Ethan Poulton. Roll call was to your favorite Christmas present. The minutes from last meeting were read and approved. The song “Little Green Frog” was led by Emma and Jackie Tornes and Maddie Wells. A devotion “Respite” was given by Ethan Poulton. A treasurer’s report was given by Jaslynn Casto. A health report on Frost Bite was given by Cameron Miller. A safety report on Fire Safety Tips was given by Owen Schaad.

Old Business

A gift card for JoAnn Fabrics was purchased by the club as a thank you for Kelley. The club acknowledged members for how they did on their projects at the last meeting.

New Business

Candy bar orders must be turned in by Jan. 31. The Endowment Dinner is April 7 and they need help setting up and working. Quality Assurance dates are March 20, April 19, and May 15. The 4-H open house will be March 8. Adults and older members are asked to come and help.

Election of Officers was held and the following new officers were elected for 2018:

President-Haley Tornes, Vice President-Emma Poulton, Secretary-Maddie Wells, Treasurer-Ethan Poulton, Recreation Leaders-Jaslynn Casto, Averi Schwendeman, Emma Tornes, and Jackie Tornes, Scrapbook-Garret Miller, Katie Schaad, and Owen Schaad, Song Leaders-Kara Schaad, McKenzie Schaad, and Jaelyn Tornes, Safety Reporters-Dylan Hart, Cameron Miller, and Mason Wells, Health Leaders-Erin Hague, Karli Schaad, and Lane Schaad.

Refreshments were brought by Dylan Hart and Erin Hague, refreshments next time will be Maddie and Mason Wells and Mylee Lang. Meeting was adjourned by Erin Hague and seconded by Lane Schaad. The next meeting will be held Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. at St. John Senior Center.
