Marietta

The Marietta location of the Washington County Public Library, at 615 Fifth St., will be offering the following free computer classes in March, 2018:

Using Computers – The Basics

Tuesday, March 6 at 1 PM

Computers are complex devices and can be very intimidating to new users. Fortunately, many of the day-to-day tasks you perform are done much the same way in every app. In this class you will learn how to use the Start Menu and the taskbar, and how to open, save, and print files.

Using Computers – Working with Files

Thursday, March 15 at 10 AM

For many people, a computer’s filing system is a total mystery. In this class we will look at how the file system is structured and how you can put it to use to organize your information. We will also look at how the Recycle Bin works and how to set up and use Cortana, Microsoft’s new search tool.

eBooks at the Library

Monday, March 19 at 6 PM

eBooks (electronic books) have been very popular since the advent of the Kindle eReader. To meet the ever growing demand, the Library has made available thousands of eBooks. All you need to read them is your library card and an eReader, Kindle, or digital tablet. Come to this class to learn how to set up your device, find a title, check it out, and download it so you can enjoy the convenience of eBooks.

Introduction to the Internet Thursday, April 22 at 10 AM

Join us to learn what the Internet is, how it works, and how to connect to it. We will also cover how to use a web browser to “surf the Web.”

Computer classes are 2 hours long. Space is limited so registration in recommended.

Using Computers – Working with Files Wednesday, March 21 at 10 AM
