What you always wanted to know about the weather but were afraid to ask!

At 1 p.m. Feb. 26, Dr. Toni DeVore is back with a topic that will surprise and delight you all, She has spent many years studying the weather and it’s effects. The “highs” and “Lows” of weather will be explained, we’ll make a cloud in a bottle and discuss cloud formation and, of course, discuss the different kinds of clouds and what they can tell us about the weather. Different types of satellite imagery will also be looked at. Call for attendance

March 12, held on the second Monday of each month, beginning at 9 a.m. through 4 p.m. Heather McCauley comes to us with 30 years of experience with nail care. Manicure and pedicure appointments will each last 30 minutes, you may schedule one or both–all done in the privacy of our health screening room. Cost is $18 for a manicure and $30 for a pedicure. Gel polish is available for an additional $10. Call to schedule an appointment time today. Appointment times begin at 9 a.m.

Computer classes beginning March 5 at 10 a.m. The goal of these three weekly sessions is to give participants a solid foundation of basic computer skills. Once the basics are understood, the participant will have a clear understanding on which to build their future knowledge of and skill with computers. The course will cover the basic computer components, keyboard and mouse, windows basics, using minimize feature and the taskbar, using scroll bars, pull down menus, working with text, inserting text and printing. Call to register; class size is limited.

Matter of Balance Series begins March 12 and will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Don’t let the fear of falling keep you from enjoying activities. This evidence based program was developed through a grant from the Administration on Aging and developed by the Ohio Department of Aging. The eight-week series helps older adults reduce their fear of falling, thereby enhancing activity levels. Falls are not a normal part of aging, and most falls can be prevented! The class is free and open to the public. Call to register as class size is limited. A boxed lunch will be provided after each class, thanks to special arrangements through Buckeye Hills Regional Council.

St. Patrick’s Day Party March 12 at 5 p.m. The luck of the Irish will be with you for this afternoon filled with green fun. A traditional Irish stew will be served as well as fun trivia games and laughter. The cost of $5 allows you to enjoy food, fun and prizes. Call to reserve a seat for this event.

Diabetic Empowerment Education Program Series begins March 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. Last class April 17 DEEP – Do you or someone you love have diabetes? This six week program encourages small lifestyle changes while learning about your diabetes and the way it affects your health. Have fun with friends and family while learning how to manage diabetes trough these educational workshops. This program is not a replacement for medical care. Participants should keep all medical appoints and follow the directions of healthcare providers. There is no cost to this evidence based six-week program. Registration is required.

Alzheimer’s Support Group meeting at O’Neill Center, the first Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m. O’Neill Center Adult Care center ill be open for new clients and with Thursday evening hours they are available until 7 p.m.

Fun & Fit Exercise Class: Geared to seniors 50+, a fun fitness class using bands, weights and low impact aerobics set to lively music. $12 per month, classes Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 11:30 a.m. to noon. Taught by Candi Hall-Cisler, personal trainer.

Zumba classes: Tuesday and Thursday, 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. $25 for six classes. Becky Lightfritz, ZIN Certified Zumba Instructor. Open to the public all ages. Rhythm Moves, Monday 9 a.m.
