Career Center inducts students into Honor Society

The National Technical Honor Society of the Career Center recently held induction of new members and reception for students selected for membership. Thirty-eight young men and women and their guests were invited to the reception.

The National Technical Honor Society, formed in 1984, recognizes outstanding career and technical students for achievement in seven competency areas, including skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. Locally, the Washington County Career Center has honored students for 25 years. This year, 23 new initiates were inducted at a ceremony on May 7 at the Career Center.

The new initiates:

– Clayton Allman, Jr. is a Warren junior in the Heavy Equipment program, and he is the son of Clayton, Sr. and Margaret Allman of Vincent;

– Justin Anderson is a Fort Frye junior in the Landscape Construction & Turf Management program, and he is the son of Kevin and Carol Anderson of Beverly;

– Amy Brookhart is a Warren junior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of Michael and Betty Brookhart of Vincent;

– Nate Brothers is a Fort Frye junior in the Welding program, and he is the son of Tom and Kim Brothers of Beverly;

– Spencer Crone is a Marietta junior in the Heavy Equipment program, and he is the son of Joe and Melinda Crone of Marietta;

– Dominick Dilly is a Fort Frye junior in the Electricity program, and he is the son of Terry Stephens and Angela Dilly-Stephens of Beverly;

– Breanna Fleeman is a Marietta junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Chris and Julie Fleeman of Marietta;

– Hunter Gilbert is a Belpre junior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and he is the son of Scott Gilbert of Belpre and Kenna Lewis of Parkersburg;

– Mary Hayes is a Frontier junior in the Hair Design program, and she is the daughter of Jeff (Selena) Hayes of Morgantown and Amy Dye (Jeremy) of Newport;

– Kaitlyn Hensel is a Marietta junior in the Digital Marketing program, and she is the daughter of Dale and Natasha Hensel of Marietta;

– Alyssa Kern is a Fort Frye senior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Brad (Becky) Kern of Waterford and Tassy (Eric) Yates of Beverly;

– Olivia Lauric is a Fort Frye junior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Frank and Jessica Lauric of Waterford;

– Janson Linton is a Belpre junior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Jason Linton of Athens and Brandy (Eric) Sydenstricker of Belpre;

– Jocelyn Lynch is a Fort Frye junior in the Hair Design program, and she is the daughter of Anthony and Ronda Lynch of Lowell;

– McKayla McClain is a Warren junior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Ryan and Melissa McClain of Bartlett;

– Ivy Pugh is a Marietta junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Michael and Jennifer Pugh of Marietta;

– Jaclyn Reynolds is a Marietta junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Doris Reynolds of Marietta and the late Brent Reynolds;

– Shelby Sandlin is a Marietta junior in the Hair Design program, and her guardians are Steve and Saith Kovacs;

– Cody Schmidt is a Marietta junior in the Heavy Equipment program, and he is the son of Jennifer Buck of Marietta;

– Hope Seevers is a Frontier junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Jeff Seevers of New Matamoras and Sandra Seevers of Marietta;

– Jaron Seevers is a Marietta junior in the Heavy Equipment program, and he is the son of Doug and Karen Seevers of Marietta;

– David Sloter is a Warren junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Dwight and Page Sloter of Fleming; and

– Tyson Wilcoxen is a Belpre junior in the Auto Mechanics program, and he is the grandson of Roger Wilcoxen of Belpre.

– Sydney Benson is a Warren junior in the Health Information Technology program, and she is the daughter of Brian Benson of Vincent.

– Mariah Brown is a Warren junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Harold and Pamela Brown of Vincent;

– Katelyn Chesser is a Warren junior in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Justin and Bonnie Chesser of Bartlett;

– Scott Cunningham is a Warren junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Kelly and Julie Cunningham of Marietta;

– Chiana Eddy is a Fort Frye junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Bruce and Renay Eddy of Lower Salem;

– Benjamin Erb is a Frontier junior in the Building Technology/Carpentry program, and he is the son of William and Cynthia Erb of Stanleyville;

– DeLaney Harper is a Warren junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Greg and Chris Harper of Cutler;

– Margaret Kemp is a Warren junior in the Cosmetology program, and she is the daughter of Philip and Karen Kemp of Vincent;

– Hannah Moore is a Frontier junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Mindy Moore of Dart and the late Roger Moore;

– Michaela Shuman is a Marietta junior in the Building Technology/Carpentry program, and she is the daughter of Mechelle Shuman of Marietta;

– Austin Siders is a Marietta junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Emily Siders of Marietta;

– Sarah Slater is a Belpre junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Jeff and Mary Slater of Belpre;

– Kendell Ullman is a Warren junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Teresa Ullmann of Vincent and the late Arlen Ullmann;

– Kaylie Wittekind is a Belpre junior in the Landscape Construction & Turf Management program, and she is the daughter of Jason Wittekind of Marietta and Julie Fought of Belpre; and

– Tanner Wriston is a Warren junior in the Building Technology/Carpentry program, and he is the son of Crystal Martin of Belpre.

Career Center students are selected for membership based upon scholarship (3.8 Career Center GPA), teacher recommendations, and exemplifying the seven ideals of Skill, Honesty, Service, Responsibility, Scholarship, Citizenship and Leadership. Many Washington County Career Center students over the years have been members of both the Career Center Honor Society and their respective partner school honor society.
