Marietta High School Class of 1958

Marietta High School Class of 1958 celebrated its 60th anniversary on June 8, 9 and 10.

On Friday, June 8, a Sip and Chat was held at the Quality Inn in their Tasting Room from 6 to 9 p.m. On Saturday, June 9, a luncheon was held at Spagna’s Restaurant from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Also on Saturday afternoon, a scenic boat ride on the Valley Gem was taken from 2 to 4 p.m. On Sunday, June 10, a breakfast was enjoyed on Spagna’s Restaurant’s patio from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

There were 220 originally in the class with 84 deceased.

Waterford High School Class of 1958

Waterford High School Class of 1958 celebrated its 60th anniversary at Wainwrights Cabin in Waterford on Friday, May 25, with a dinner prepared and served by Katie Tucker.

The evening was spent socializing and looking at albums from previous years of Barbara Orndoff Richardson.

There were 29 in the class; 11 are deceased.

Twelve members attended: Jeanette Bauerbach Davis (Gene); Clifford Bennett; Charles Campbell (Mary); Nina Ellis Turner; Carolyn Flowers Arnold (Junior); Robert Flowers (Teresa); Sandra Jackson Merrill; Larry McCutcheon (Carolyn); Harold (Sonny) Offenberger (Rita); Marie Riley Stewart (Ed); Charles Schilling (Lillian); Thomas Strauss (Evelyn); Kay Eichmiller (guest).

Unable to attend: Mary Arnold Germaine, Martha Derby Waldron, Wilbur Hinton, Ruth Ann Leach Ankrom, Thomas Pottmeyer, Roy Vandine.

Deceased members: Josephine Fisher, Kenny Pettit, Richard Moler, Dwayne Stollar, Wilfred Biedenbach, Don Lorenz, Barbara Richardson, James Drayer, Joanne White, Fred Eichmiller, Leo Arnold.

On Saturday, May 26, the class attended the alumni banquet at the high school with 10 members attending. Robert Flowers and Charles Schilling were unable to attend.

Marietta High School Class of 1978

Marietta High School’s Class of 1978 invites classmates to mark their calendars for the 40th class reunion. The reunion will take place on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at the Marietta Country Club. There will be a buffet dinner, band, and cash bar.

Belpre High School Class of 1963

Graduates of the Belpre High School Class of 1963 will celebrate their 55th class reunion with a full slate of events on Aug. 4 and 5, in conjunction with Belpre’s annual Homecoming. Events include Homecoming Parade participation Saturday morning, a Saturday evening dinner and concluding with a picnic Sunday afternoon.

“Our committee has planned these gatherings to allow ample time for classmates to catch up with each other in casual settings,” said David Brook, class president. “The Saturday evening dinner will also include the wonderfully humorous and nostalgic video our returning Mistress of Ceremonies Patty Haythorne Pell created for our fiftieth.”

Those who want to participate in the parade should meet at the high school starting point before 10 a.m. Saturday. Several classmates and spouses will be driving their sports cars and other vehicles in the parade for those who choose to ride. Classmates, family members and guests who want to view the parade as a group should meet at the corner of Stone Road and Washington Boulevard.

The dinner Saturday evening will be held at the Blennerhassett Hotel in Parkersburg, beginning with a social hour at 5 p.m. The cost is $39 per person and reservations should be made by contacting Darien Lorentz at 740-423-5067.

The picnic will be Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Howe’s Grove and is complimentary. Classmates should advise Lorentz of attendance.
