90th birthday celebration
Friends and family gather with Mildred Schwendeman
Mildred Schwendeman celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by friends and family. She was born July 20, 1928 to the late Joseph and Ida Schaad Huck. She is a graduate of Lowell High School and a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church of Lowell. Mildred is well known for her cooking and many years of community service, especally with the Lowell Octoberfest.
She married the late John (Jerry) Schwendeman on September 1, 1949 and were married for 61 years. They had ten children, five boys and five girls. Kevin (Cynthia) of Lowell, Diane Palmer (Chuck) of Marietta, Terry (Audrey) of Lowell, Mark (Mary Jo) of Williamstown, Sharon Fouss (Randy) of Lowell, Roseanne Brooks ( Brad) of Beverly, Marilyn Moses (Michael) of Parkersburg, Kim (Patti) of Lowell, Greg of North Carolina and Annette Grimm (Brett) of North Carolina. There are 26 grandchildren and 25 greatgrandchildren. She has three sisters, Gertrude Arnold of Waterford, and the late Rita Bishop and Margaret Miller; and five brothers, Jim Huck of Lowell, and the late John, Walter, Alfred and Joe Huck.
