Nathan Matthews, a graduate of Marietta High School and criminal justice major, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2018 semester at Baldwin Wallace University, according to Provost Stephen D. Stahl. Any full-time student who achieves a GPA of at least 3.6 for 12 or more graded hours or part-time student who achieves a GPA of at least 3.6 for six or more graded hours in the fall or spring semester will be placed on the Dean’s List.
Nathan has also recently been recommended for the honors program at Baldwin-Wallace University.
Area student earns academic recognition at West Virginia Wesleyan College
Buckhannon, West Virginia–Victoria Jackson, of Marietta, earned academic recognition at West Virginia Wesleyan College for their classroom performance during the 2018 fall semester by being named to the President’s List.
The criteria for inclusion for the Wesleyan President’s List is a 4.0 GPA with a minimum of 12 earned hours for the semester.

Waterford High School graduate completes basic military training
U.S. Air Force Airman Austin Pyatt graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Pyatt is the son of Wendy Whealdon of Lowell and Jason Pyatt of Little Hocking. He is a 2018 graduate of Waterford High School.
