Royalty will be crowned at Waterford Community Fair

The 2019 Washington County Junior Fair royalty competition was held on Aug. 12 at the Ohio State University Extension Office. Royalty candidates participated in an individual interview with three panel judges and a public speaking event. There are four candidates for 2019 Washington County Junior Fair Queen, one candidate for King, and four candidates for Washington County Junior Princess.

The royalty court will attend the coronation ceremony on Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. at the Waterford Community Fair. The 2018 reigning Queen Leeann Trippett and King Tyler Hartline will serve as emcees for the evening. The coronation ceremony will begin with introduction of each of the candidates followed by the farewell speeches from the 2018 Royalty. The crowing of the Queen and her court will follow. There will also be a crowning of the Fair Princess. The princess will reign in the event that the Queen is unable to fulfill her duties.

The following individuals are running for Queen: Torie Bosner, age 16 of Waterford. Torie is the daughter of Daniel and Jennifer Bosner. Torie is a senior at Waterford High School and is a member of Waterford FFA and Palmer lads and lassies 4-H Club. Lindsey Hartline , age 16 of Marietta. Lindsey is the daughter of Gale and Christina Hartline. Lindsey is a senior at Marietta High School and is a member of Lynch Combined 4-H Club and the Washington County CARTEENS Club. Sierra Layson, age 16 of Whipple. Sierra is the daughter of Tim and Mindy Nicewanger. Sierra will be attending Marshall University and is a member of SL Homemakers and LS Boys 4-H Club. Sierra Sinclair age 16 of Vincent. Sierra is the daughter of Dean and Beth Sinclair. Sierra is a senior at Warren High School and is a member of the Warren FFA and Honeysuckle Hills 4-H Club. Collin Bauerbach age 16 of Lowell is running for Washington County Junior Fair King. Collin is the son of Jeff and Jeni Bauerbach. Collin is a senior at Fort Frye High School and is a member of the Fort Frye FFA.

Lastly there are four Junior Princess candidates. They include Megan Beaver age 14 of New Matamoras. Megan is the daughter of Tim and Suzanna Beaver. Megan will be a sophomore this year at Frontier High School and is a member of Soaring Eagles 4-H Club and the Frontier FFA. Megan Becker age 15 of Whipple. Megan is the daughter of Fred and Tricia Becker. Megan is a junior at Fort Frye High School and is a member of the Fort Frye FFA and SL Homemakers and LS Boys. Madison Hiener age 13 of Marietta. Madison is the daughter of Nathan and Carolyn Hiener. Madison is a Freshman at Waterford High School and is a member of Oak Grove Explorers 4-H Club. Hadley Offenberger age 12 of Waterford. Hadley is the daughter of Greg and Debbi Offenberger. Hadley is in 7th grade at Waterford Elementary School and a member of Running Wild 4-H Club.
