Newport man sentenced for domestic violence

Aaron Robinson, 24, of of 90 Stanley St., Newport, was sentenced to 90 days in jail and a drug assessment Friday.
Robinson had previously pleaded guilty to domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony.
In April Robinson was arrested on charges of abduction and domestic violence, both felonies, and probation violations, after preventing Tiffany Bookman, the mother of his children, from leaving his residence.
The pair had a disagreement and Bookman was trying to remove her things and leave while her mother was outside.
Robinson had a prior conviction for criminal damaging in March.
