From staff reports

A 37-year-old man from Coolville was sentenced to 42 months in prison on a burglary conviction Monday morning in Washington County Common Pleas Court.

Michael Atkinson was convicted Jan. 31 on one count of burglary, a third-degree felony, and one count of theft between $1,000 and $7,500, a fifth-degree felony. Atkinson was sentenced to 12 months on the theft count, to be served concurrently, by Judge Mark Kerenyi. Atkinson was given 54 days credit for time served.

Atkinson broke into a trailer in Dunham Township on Sept. 27, according to court records, and stole several articles which later were recovered at his trailer and in a nearby shed at 24717 Brimstone Road in Coolville. Detectives also matched shoeprints at the crime scene to his footwear.
