Reports/Washington County

•A deputy responded to Grindstone Drive, Marietta, on Friday for a report of cattle belonging to Randy Simms being in the roadway and running loose through neighbor’s crops. Contact had been made on Thursday with Simms when the cows were out on that day. Neighbors called this date and attempts to contact Simms met with negative results. With help from local farmers, the cattle were able to be put back on Simms’ property. On Saturday, another report came in about the same cattle in the neighbor’s crops. Simms was contacted on the phone and he advised he had just gotten the cows back on his property. A summons is being requested for Simms, 64, of 1045 Grindstone Drive, Marietta, for animals at large.

• On Friday, a deputy responded to Reno, for a report of Jeffrey Seevers, Jr., doing damage to a vehicle and residence. Seevers had been in a verbal argument with the victim which led to Seevers attempting to open a vehicle door, and then striking the hood of the vehicle with his fists. The victim feared for her safety due to the actions of Seevers. Seevers, 37, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

• A deputy responded to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday in reference to a possible domestic violence complaint, which occurred at 2840 Caywood Road, Marietta, between Nora and William Zajac. Nora explained that on Friday her husband, Williams, returned home and they began arguing. Nora stated William “snapped” her with a kitchen towel, grabbing her wrist and at one point holding her and struck her in the head with an unknown object. William said Nora was acting out and removing items from the walls around the home. William reports that Nora approached him in an aggressive manner and he held her wrists to keep her away from him. William also stated she attacked him while he was in the bathroom, scratching him in multiple places. William denied striking Nora in the head with anything and instead stated she tried to hit him with a wooden object. Deputy Brown observed abrasions on both Nora and William. William Mitchell Zajac, 61, and Nora Margaret Zajac, 72, were both placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

• Deidre Wriston, of Center Street, Beverly reported on Saturday having a break-in at that location. This case remains under investigation.

•A deputy was dispatched to Newport Township on Saturday for a possible domestic incident. In meeting with all parties this case was determined to be unfounded.

• A deputy was dispatched to 817 Masonic Park Road, Lot 10, Marietta, on Saturday for a dispute between Danielle N. Oliver and Leroy G. Best. Oliver said she and Best were in an argument when Best shoved her so she punched him in the back of the head. Best stated that he turned away from Oliver and she punched him in the back of the head. Best was also bleeding from his finger after Oliver had ripped the phone from his hand while he was trying to call 911. Danielle Nicole Oliver, 29, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

• A deputy was dispatched to 1399 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, on Saturday for a reported domestic dispute. Penny McClain said Michael Miller had been living with her for several months and that he came home intoxicated, and began yelling at her and calling her names. Witnesses arrived inside the home, at which time Miller knocked food out of McClain’s hands, and then proceeded outside and challenged another subject to a fight. McClain called 911 at that time and Miller left on his motorcycle. Miller returned to the residence while the deputy was en route, and began chasing subjects around the yard to engage him in a fight. Michael Phillip Miller, 51, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

• On Saturday, a deputy met with Seneca Wolfe of Main Street, Waterford, to take a report of a theft of a mountain bike. This case remains under investigation.

• Deputies responded to 554 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford, on Monday for a report of a landlord/tenant issue. The tenant, Derek J. Vanhorn, currently had three active warrants. Attempts were made at the residence to locate Vanhorn. Officers were advised that Vanhorn had just passed on his motorcycle going toward Watertown on Ohio 339. A traffic stop was attempted, however, once the lights and siren were activated Vanhorn continued on without stopping. Vanhorn drove on both sides of the roadway, coming close to striking vehicles as he drove. A deputy approached from the south, and upon Vanhorn seeing the cruiser ahead of him, he drove through a yard, around trees and up into a field. Vanhorn lost control and wrecked. Derek Jordan Vanhorn, 32, of 554 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford, was placed under arrest for failure to comply, theft without consent, breach of recognizance, resisting arrest, failure to reinstate operator’s license, failure to register a dog and loose dog.

• Denise Renae Parker, 45, of 7497 Harris Highway, Washington, W.Va., was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

• Clayton Gene Porter, 21, of 215 Barnette Ridge Road, Marietta, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

• Daniel Earl Science, 23, of 105 Wyoming Road, Marietta, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

• Jeffrey Thomas Seevers Jr., 37, of Marietta, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

• Michael Dale Travis, 21, of 405 E. Branch Road, Lowell, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

• Levi Riley Grove, 25, of 1403 Seventh St., Vienna, was arrested for OVI, speed, improper lane change and traffic signal (red light), all misdemeanors.

• Travis Lee Edwards, 32, of 716 Calder Ridge Road, Belpre, was arrested for no operator’s license, a misdemeanor.

• William Mitchell Zajac, 61, of 2840 Caywood Road, Marietta, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

• Nora Margaret Zajac, 72, of 2840 Caywood Road, Marietta, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

• Jeffrey Lawrence Metcalf, 29, of 6956 State Route 329, Guysville, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

• Kyle Andrew Bryant, 31, of 755 Ann St., Belpre, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

• Cynthia Kay Myers, 45, of 615 East Montgomery St., Marietta, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

• Michael Phillip Miller, 51, of 50 Flint Run Road, Waterford, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

• Danielle Nicole Oliver, 29, of 817 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

• Marc Alan Hescht, 61, of 749 Mary St., Belpre, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

• Ethan Edward Hall, 29, of 955 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, was arrested for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor.

• Cecilia Kathleen Schultz, 20, of 749 Mary St., Belpre, was arrested for contempt of court, a felony.

• Eric Norman Saylor, 36, of 7930 Bolin Road, Albany, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

• Sean T. Andrew Alexander, 25, of 17639 Lexington Lane, Strongsville, was arrested for probation violation, a felony.

• Thomas Eugene Malone Sr., 41, of 804 Wilbur St., Apt. 8, Parkersburg, was arrested for driving under suspension, no operator license and failure to control, all misdemeanors.

• Curtis Dean Howell, 34, of 1170 Tice Run Road, New Matamoras, was arrested for contempt, failure to appear, a felony.

• Elizabeth Riley Mockler, 23, of 1028 W. 12th St., Lorain, was arrested for illegal conveyance of deadly weapons, a felony, disorderly conduct, public indecency and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

• Robin Louise Scott, 35, of 5 Wharton Drive, Parkersburg, was arrested for probation violation, drug paraphernalia, possessing drug abuse instrument and wrongful entrustment, all misdemeanors.

• Robert Eugene Flinn, 32, of 1613 15th Ave., Parkersburg, was arrested for failure to appear, a felony.

• Derek Jordan Vanhorn, 32, of 554 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford, was arrested for failure to comply, a felony, theft without consent, breach of recognizance, resisting arrest, failure to reinstate operator’s license, failure to register a dog and loose dog, all misdemeanors.

• Aleah Melissa Buffett, 24, of 106 Main St., New Matamoras, was arrested for failure to appear.

• Aaron Douglas Schultz, 22, of 72 High St., Vincent, was arrested for complicity, a felony.

• Nelson Douglas Lewis, 51, of 108 Berry Lane, Marietta, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

• Keith A Wilson, 33, of 1425 Orchard St., Coshocton, was arrested for driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.

• Christopher Ali Streight, of 120 Ward St., Marietta, was arrested for contempt of court, a felony.
