Churches host Vacation Bible School programs

Evergreen Bible Church

Evergreen Bible Church, 113 Ellsworth Ave., Marietta will have Vacation Bible School July 8 to 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme is “Pirates of the Galilean.” God’s Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure.Yo Ho Ho! Come and enjoy this fun adventure.

Pioneer Presbyterian Church

Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Belpre invites children to Kingdom Rock: Where Kids Stand Strong for God.

A summer kids’ event called Kingdom Rock will be hosted at Pioneer Presbyterian Church from July 8 through July 12. At Kingdom Rock, kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into treats, experience epic Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them to stand strong, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Each day concludes with Fanfare Finale-a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.

Kingdom Rock is for kids from age 3 to 6th grade and will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day.

Christ United Methodist and First Presbyterian churches

Groovin with Jesus Vacation Bible School will kickoff on July 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the backyard of Christ United Methodist Church, Third and Wooster streets, Marietta. Kickoff will have a live band, food, crafts and face painting.

Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, July 15 to 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at First Presbyterian Church, Fourth and Wooster streets. Ages range from preschool to fifth grade and need to pre-register by July 1. Registration forms are available at both churches.

Tunnel-Warren Chapel United Methodist churches

God’s Backyard Bible Camp is the theme for the Tunnel-Warren Chapel United Methodist churches Vacation Bible School that is to be held July 21 to July 25 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. On Sunday through Wednesday, Tunnel will serve a light supper to the children, followed by Bible stories, crafts, music, and games that will teach what a blast it is to serve Jesus. On Thursday, VBS participants and their families will meet at Warren Chapel for a closing program and a wiener roast. Children from preschoolers through those just finishing the 6th grade are welcome to attend. Tunnel UMC is located at Ohio 550 and Coffman Road. Warren Chapel UMC is located on Warren Chapel Road.

Gilman United Methodist Church

Gilman United Methodist Church will be holding Vacation Bible School with the theme “Kingdom Rock – Where Kids Stand Strong for God.” It will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m., July 21 through 25 for ages four through fifth grade. The church is located at 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta.

Lowell Ecumenical Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School will be held at Lowell United Methodist Church from 6 to 8:30 p.m., July 22 to 26. For children ages Preschool to 6th grade for adventures in the wild west. The church is located at 323 Fourth St., Lowell.

There will also be a Lowell VBS Pool Party from 6 to 8 p.m., July 27 at the Lowell Pool.

Twin Rivers Baptist Church

“Kingdom Chronicles” will be the theme for Vacation Bible School at Twin Rivers Baptist Church, 110 D.A.V. Road, Whipple.

This year’s VBS, which will be held Aug. 5 to 9, will place spiritual emphasis on the armor of God. Decorations will reflect medieval times.

Sessions for children from ages 3 to 12 will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. each day, Monday through Friday.

Also, during the summer months there will be a special program from 7 to 8:15 p.m. each Wednesday at the church under the direction of summer intern Tony Simon. A program for teens will also be held each Wednesday evening.

Twin Rivers Baptist Church is on D.A.V. Road, off Ohio 821, 300 yards north of Exit 6 off Interstate 77.
