Vacation Bible School schedule

Bethel Lighthouse Church

“The Mighty God: God Leads Moses and Me”; will be the theme for this year’s Vacation Bible School at Bethel Lighthouse Church on County Road 126 (Warren Chapel Road), just off Ohio 676 outside Marietta. The quest begins with a “Games Fair” the kick-off ceremony on June 16 at 7 p.m. featuring a preview of the week’s lessons and activities, pizza, games and an opportunity to register for VBS Monday through Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. As “squires”, each student will learn about castles, knights, princesses, jousts, jesters and other things “medieval”. They will also learn through Bible lessons featuring Moses that there is nothing too hard for the Mighty God. There will be classes for all ages, nursery through adults. Along with Bible lessons each night, there will be skits, crafts, music and more. Everyone is welcome.

Porterfield Baptist Church

Kingdom Rock Vacation Bible School will be held at Porterfield Baptist Church from Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21 from 9 to noon for children ages four years through 6th grade. The church is located just off Ohio 339 and Ohio 7 on School House Road.

HarborSite Baptist Church

HarborSite Baptist Church will be having Vacation Bible School June 17 to 19 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. each evening. This year’s theme is “Fight the Good Fight of Faith” I Timothy 6:12. Teams will be the Army Rangers and the Navy Seals. Children ages 4 years old through those just finishing the 6th grade are invited.

There will be Bible stories, snacks,crafts, and games each evening. Parents are welcome. HarborSite Baptist Church meets in the former Fairview Elementary School on Harmar Hill at 115 Victory Place, Marietta. The church van will run each evening.

Evergreen Bible Church, 113 Ellsworth Ave., Marietta will have Vacation Bible School July 8 to 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme is “Pirates of the Galilean.” God’s Word warns us of danger and directs us to hidden treasure.Yo Ho Ho! Come and enjoy this fun adventure.

Pioneer Presbyterian Church

Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Belpre invites children to Kingdom Rock: Where Kids Stand Strong for God.

A summer kids’ event called Kingdom Rock will be hosted at Pioneer Presbyterian Church from July 8 through July 12. At Kingdom Rock, kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, dig into treats, experience epic Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them to stand strong, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Each day concludes with Fanfare Finale-a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they’ve learned.

Kingdom Rock is for kids from age 3 to 6th grade and will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day.

Christ United Methodist and First Presbyterian churches

Groovin with Jesus Vacation Bible School will kickoff on July 14 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the backyard of Christ United Methodist Church, Third and Wooster streets, Marietta. Kickoff will have a live band, food, crafts and face painting.

Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, July 15 to 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at First Presbyterian Church, Fourth and Wooster streets. Ages range from preschool to fifth grade and need to pre-register by July 1. Registration forms are available at both churches.

Tunnel United Methodist Church

Vacation Bible School at Tunnel United Methodist Church will be held from July 21 to 25.

Gilman United Methodist Church will be holding Vacation Bible School with the theme “Kingdom Rock – Where Kids Stand Strong for God.” It will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m., July 21 through 25 for ages four through fifth grade. The church is located at 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta.
