Murphytown Baptist Church welcomes new pastor, wife

The congregation of Murphytown Baptist Church will honor its new pastor, the Rev. and Kent and Laura Hall with a welcome reception on Oct. 13 at 12:15 p.m. at the church.

Hall studied at West Virginia University, Washington Technical College, Ohio University, Washington State Community College, University of Rio Grande and received his Diploma of Pastoral Ministry from W.Va. Baptist Conference, School of Christian Studies. He was presented his license at First Baptist Church of Williamstown in May.

He is currently a Professor of Industrial Technology and former Chair of the Engineering Department at Washington State Community College. He is a member of the Women of Purpose Praise Team and is heavily involved with the conference on Oct. 5 at Blennerhassett Junior High School. They will lead a mission team to the Honduras in early November.

She is a science teacher at Frontier High School. They are parents of Jensia, Matthew and Samantha and make their home in Marietta.

The public is invited to attend. Murphytown Baptist Church is located at Murphytown, 5 miles east of Parkersburg off Route 50.
