Gilman church to host fall bazaar

Gilman United Methodist Women’s annual Fall Bazaar will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta. There will be crafts, baked goods, attic treasures and more. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. including soup, sandwich and dessert. Soup will be sold by the quart for $5 each.

Men’s group will meet for breakfast

The Tunnel United Methodist Men will meet at the church for breakfast at 8 am Sunday. They will prepare special music for the 9 a.m. worship service.

Tunnel church continues with ‘Joy’ topic

Tunnel United Methodist Church’s contemporary service, called GPS (Gather, Praise, Seek), will be held Sunday in an informal setting. Gather at 11 a.m. for coffee, juice, light refreshments and conversation, with worship following. Pastor Richard Thomas will be continuing a series titled “An Affair of the Heart”, with this week’s Part 2 topic “Joy”, and will include time for informal discussion. All are welcome to this service of contemporary Christian music, worship, and searching. Tunnel Traditional Service is held at 9 a.m. and Sunday School at 10 a.m. Tunnel Church is located on Ohio 550, 4 miles west of Marietta.

Bible College choir to sing in Vienna

Myron K. Guiler, pastor of the Marietta Bible Center Church, will preach at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday. He will preach the conclusion of the message entitled, “Five Things Christ Left For Us When He Went Back to Heaven.” In addition to the service in the auditorium, the children’s Sunday school classes will begin at 10 a.m. The evening service will be at 6 p.m.

Guiler will be the featured speaker at the annual Missions Conference of the Zoar Baptist Church near Ironton from Oct. 13 to 16. The Marietta Bible College Choir will sing for the first time this year on Monday at 7 p.m.

On Oct. 18 the Marietta Bible College Choir will sing at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna, W.Va. In addition, Guiler will preach at the 7 p.m. service. James Yoak is the pastor.

The Marietta Bible Center Church will have its annual anniversary service on Oct. 20.

Church to host free community meal

Tunnel United Methodist Church will host a free community meal Thursday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. The menu includes turkey, stuffing, green beans, and pie. Tunnel Church is located on Ohio 550, 4 miles west of Marietta.

Good Samaritan free meal and clothing giveaway will be held at Faith United Methodist Church at 503 Seventh St., Marietta from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19.

Greenbrier church to host homecoming

Church offers free lunch to all

First Presbyterian Church of Marietta is offering a free lunch for the community on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located on the corner of Wooster and Fourth streets with the entrance off Wooster Street. Everyone is welcome.

Church to host Bible story hour

Pre-school Bible Story hour held at the First Church of the Nazarene located at 100 Mill Creek Road will be Oct. 25 at 10 a.m. It is for children 3 to 5 years old.
