Churches host Vacation Bible School

Faith Bible Church

International Spy Academy will be the theme for Vacation Bible School at Faith Bible Church from 6 to 9 p.m., June 16 through 20. The program by Answers in Genesis is filled with fun mysteries for ages 2 to 12th grade. There will be action games, top secret snacks, classified crafts, and more. The mission is to uncover the clues that lead to the one true God who is the Creator of all. The church is located at 118 W. 9th St., Williamstown.

First Baptist Church of Marietta

God and Me At Sea, a VBS fair for the entire family will be held on the Marietta College lawn on Saturday, June 21 from 11 a.m to 2 p.m for story time, crafts, games, food, sno cones, cotton candy and more. The first 50 to RSVP will receive a free gift bag.

“Where Kids Stand Tall for God” will be the theme for Vacation Bible School at Gilman United Methodist Church from 6 to 8:30 p.m., July 20 through July 24. It is open to the public for ages 4 through 5th grade.

Porterfield Baptist Church

“Weird Animals – Where Jesus’ Love Is One-of-a-kind” will be the theme for Bible School at Porterfield Baptist Church to be held June 16 to 20 from 9 a.m. to noon. Twin Rivers Baptist Church

Theme of this year’s Vacation Bible School at Twin Rivers Baptist Church is “International Spy Academy: Agents For the One True God.” Sessions will be conducted from 6:30 to 9 p.m. each evening Monday through Friday, June 16 to 20, at the church for children from 3 years old through sixth-graders. Nightly activities will include a group assembly time, followed by classes with lessons for the various age groups and snacks.

Twin Rivers Baptist Church is at 110 D.A.V. Road, off Ohio 821, just 300 yards north of Exit 6 off Interstate 77.

Journey Church, First Presbyterian Church, and Christ United Methodist Church

“Live like Christmas” is the theme for Vacation Bible School this year for the Christ United Methodist Church, the First Presbyterian Church and the Journey Church of Marietta. It will begin for the whole family on July 13 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the back yard of the Christ United Methodist Church, corner of Third and Washington streets, Marietta.

There will be ice cream, an advent calendar craft, puppet show and family fun. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Monday through Wednesday, July 14 to 16 from 9 a.m. until noon, will be a more traditional VBS for children who were 3 years old by Jan. 1, 2014 and potty trained, through completed 5th grade. For those three days, the children will learn about our Savior’s birth by experiencing several fun activities including: music, games, drama, crafts and snacks. They will learn that Christmas is every day.

Registration forms are available from each church. An offering collected during the week will be given to the Washington and Morgan County Community Action to help with their Secret Santa project.

Bethel Lighthouse Church

Bethel Lighthouse Church Vacation Bible School will be held June 22 through 27. The theme will be “Cross Canyon Trail – Ridin’ Strong with Jesus” Vacation Bible School. The church is located on Warren Chapel Road, Ohio 126. Ages 2 through adults are invited each night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., for Bible lessons, crafts, music, food and fun.

Moss Run Community Church

Moss Run Community Church will be holding Vacation Bible School from June 22 to 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. nightly for ages 2 to teens. The closing program will be Thursday, June 26, for family and friends to see what the children did during the week.

The special guest each night will be Mark Dowler teaching lessons with experiments and demonstrations. There will be crafts, games, singing and refreshments. They will be collecting pennies each night to help the Heslop family who lives in the community.

The theme for this year will be Ephesians 6:11 – “The Armor of God” – “Stand Up, Stand Strong for Jesus.”

The Marietta Bible Center Church will hold its annual Vacation Bible School from June 23 to 27. Charles Chandler, a nationally known children’s evangelist will lead the program. He is an expert in children’s games, songs, story telling, and Bible lessons. For transportation for children call the church office.

Lowell Christian Church located at 22 4th St., Lowell, will be holding their Vacation Bible School from 6 to 8:30 p.m., July 13 to 17. It’s a Jungle Safari where kids explore the Nature of God, Find the Treasure.

Beverly United Methodist and Beverly Presbyterian Churches

Join the Beverly United Methodist Church and the Beverly Presbyterian Church for a joint Vacation Bible School on Sunday, July 13 through Thursday, July 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme will be, “Wilderness Escape: Where God Guides and Provides”. Children age 3 through sixth grade will journey with Moses and the Israelites as they escape Egypt and learn to trust God. A light meal will be served at 6 p.m. each evening to all participants before the fun begins.
