North Hills Church to Make a Difference

The public is invited to join North Hills Baptist Church in making a difference on Saturday, Oct. 28, the national “Make a Difference Day.” They will be taking donations of blankets, coats, hats, and gloves (new or slightly used) to be given to the Gospel Mission Food Pantry for give away to those in need of warm items this winter. Drop off any donations at North Hills Baptist Church, 108 Stonecrest Dr., Marietta from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 28. Questions, call 740-373-9816.

Vienna church to host ballroom dancing

River Cities Ballroom Dance Club is hosting a dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Wayside United Methodist Church Hall, 3001 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. Dance cost is $60/couple. Music by the Scott Kitchen’s Big Band, bring your own snacks to share and non-alcoholic beverages. Formal dress — gentlemen tuxedos or dark suit, ladies formal gown or cocktail dress. New members are always welcome.

Song Service at Mount Herman

A Song Service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at Mount Hermon Church, State Route 550, Amesville, with singer Carolyn Connor. Everyone is welcome.

Variety soup

supper Saturday

A variety soup supper will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Sand Hill United Methodist Church in Reno. There will be a free will offering.

Waverly church to hold give-away

A giveaway will be held at the Waverly United Methodist Church on Virginia Street in Waverly, W.Va. The giveaway will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21. There will be clothing (men’s, women’s and children’s); house wares and many other items. The church has been doing this twice a year for the last several years. Basement sale at

Belpre Heights

Belpre Heights United Methodist Church at 720 Clement Ave. will be having a big basement sale Thursday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m., and Friday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Some things will be set up outside, weather permitting; 740-423-7915.

Rummage sale is November 3

The Waterford United Methodist Women’s Society will be holding a rummage and basement sale on Friday, Nov. 3. The sale will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a bag sale from 2 to 3 p.m. For information: 740-984-4280

Election Day soup and sandwich

The Annual Election Day Soup and Sandwich will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at First Presbyterian Church, 501 Fourth St., Marietta. Soup, sandwich, dessert and drink will be available for $6. Proceeds to benefit Harvest of Hope, Marietta Food Pantry and the Gospel Mission Food Pantry.

The Watertown Presbyterain Church will be serving an Election Day Soup, Sandwich & Desert Luncheon on Nov. 7 between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Watertown Presbyterian Church at 340 Watertown Road, Watertown.
