Center Valley Baptist Church of New Matamoras having a Holiday Bus Trip, Dec. 16; bus will leave CVBC parking lot at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, and travel to The Highlands (Cabela’s) retail park in Triadelphia, W.Va., for shopping and lunch. The bus will then travel to Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, W.Va., for additional shopping and an on-bus tour of the Winter Festival of Lights. The bus will make one final stop at a fast food restaurant on the return trip to Center Valley Baptist Church. Expect a late return arrival of 11 p.m. or later. The public is invited to participate in the bus trip. Seats are $25 each. One person to a seat, including children. Seating is limited so early registration is advised. GriefShare for 2018 — program to learn how to walk the journey of grief and be supported on the way; a place where hurting people find healing and hope; group will meet every Sunday for 13 weeks; begins on Sunday, Jan. 14, and conclude on Sunday, April 8, for a total of 12 sessions; no meeting on Easter Sunday, April 1; in each session, the group will watch a video featuring personal stories of those grieving the death of a loved one; after the video, there will be a discussion and sharing time together; there is a workbook, provided at no charge, for participants to take notes during the video; workbook also includes daily exercises to help those in attendance grow and heal; group will meet from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in fellowship hall; light refreshments will be served; feel free to bring a brown bag lunch and join the group as they take this journey from mourning to joy; to sign up for the class, contact facilitators Lucy Scott at 740-525-4952 and Vivian Brown at 740-373-8643; or call the church office Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon, 740-373-6478.

Live the Adventure – Royal Rangers, an activity based program for boys and young men in grades kindergarten to 12th grade, will be offered Wednesday nights from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Fort Harmar’s River of Life Assembly of God Church, located at 200 Franklin St. in Marietta. The Saint Vincent de Paul Society accepts donations of clean, used furniture or bedding. They also accept used appliances in good working order. These items are given free to families in need.
