Twin Rivers plans special programs and events
All centered around Christmas season
From local reports
Twin Rivers Baptist Church at 110 D.A.V. Road, Whipple, has special programs and events planned for the Christmas season.
The TRBC Adult Choir will be presenting the Christmas cantata, “The Greatest Story Ever Told,” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Luminaries will lead the way to the church for the program.
A drama is included along with the music of the cantata. In the drama, an elderly unbelieving man is confronted with the childlike faith of a young girl. The girl, along with her family, shines the light of Christ into his life when they share with him “the greatest story ever told.”
Children of the church will present the Christmas play, “Legend of the Christmas King,” at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17.
In the play, the “fourth wise man” journeys to Bethlehem as he searches for the newborn King of Kings. Along the way he is joined by an angel who helps him on his quest. He ends up missing the birth of the baby Jesus, but he learns some important biblical truths along the journey.
There will also be one special service at 10:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve day, Dec. 24. There will be no other services at the church on Dec. 24.
Usual services at the church are Sunday school with classes for all ages at 9:30 a.m. and the morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays, with the evening worship service on Sundays at 6 p.m. The midweek service is at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. The Awana program for children and classes for teens are also held at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Jeff Baumer is pastor of the church, which is located off Ohio 821, just 300 yards north of Exit 6 off Interstate 77.
