A free community meal (meatloaf) will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Tunnel United Methodist Church, located at Ohio 550 and Coffman Road. Handicapped parking is available in the upper parking lot by the church entrance. To request to have a meal delivered within a five-mile radius, leave a message at 740-374-5634.

Election Day lunch

in Barlow

An Election Day luncheon will be on Tuesday, May 8, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 at Barlow Presbyterian Church, Warrior Drive and State Route 550 in Barlow. Menu is stuffed turkey rolls, stuffed ham rolls, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, salad, green beans, rolls and desserts.

Mother’s Day flowers for sale in Vienna

Wayside United Methodist Men will be selling various flowers and ferns for Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the corner of Grand Central Avenue and 30th Street in Vienna.

Church plans Bible school activities

Pine Grove Baptist Church will be hosting its annual Vacation Bible School from July 30 to Aug. 3.

Belpre church to host weekend revival

Belpre Heights United Methodist Church is hosting a revival with special guest Evangelists “Appointed2” on May 4 and 5 at 7 p.m. and May 6 at 10:45 a.m. Musician/Evanglists Randy and Amy Nichols will share the gospel message through music and the Word.

Front Street church

to host fesitval

First Congregational Church, located at 318 Front St., Marietta, will be having its annual Strawberry Festival Lunch and Bake Sale from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, May 20, at the church. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children age 7 and under. The meal includes sandwich, chips, drink, and strawberry or peach shortcake. Proceeds will go toward the general fund.

Twin Rivers to

celebrate 22 years

Twin Rivers Baptist Church at 110 D.A.V. Road, Whipple, will be celebrating its 22nd anniversary with special Anniversary Sunday services on Sunday, May 6.

The day’s services will include Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages. The morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. will be followed by a carry-in dinner in the church’s Family Center. An afternoon service will be conducted after the meal. There will be no evening service.

Twin Rivers Baptist held its first worship service on May 5, 1996, in the Ohio Valley Room at the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta with James P. Rushing Jr. as the founding pastor. The church’s chartering service was held a few weeks later on June 9.

Prior to the purchase of the current church property on D.A.V. Road, services were held in the Marietta High School auditorium, the Betsey Mills Club and the Washington County Career Center.

The church purchased a little over 7 acres on D.A.V. Road, just off Ohio 821, in August 1996, and a groundbreaking ceremony for the new church building was conducted Oct. 26, 1997. The first worship service in the newly constructed church was held on Oct. 4, 1998.

A recent major building project for Twin Rivers Baptist was a $1 million Family Center addition. A ground breaking for the new addition was held on June 28, 2015, and a dedication service for it was conducted on June 5, 2016.

Jeff Baumer has served as church pastor since December 2008.

Twin Rivers Baptist Church is on D.A.V. Road, just off Ohio 821, and is located just 300 yards north of Exit 6 of Interstate 77.
