Gilman UMC Pastor receives Doctorate
After five years of study, and writing a Bible study called “Experiencing God Through Prayer and Scripture” as her thesis, the Rev. Dr. Diann O’Bryant, current pastor at Gilman United Methodist Church, received her Doctorate Degree in Ministry with a concentration in Spiritual Formation from the Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in Chicago, Ill., on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
O’Bryant has been the pastor at Gilman United Methodist Church since 2008 and considers prayer and scripture study essential for all Christians in strengthening their bond with God.
Twenty-five family and close friends accompanied O’Bryant to Chicago as she received her diploma, along with 45 other master and doctorate recipients.
O’Bryant lives in Reno with her husband, John, and has two grown sons, John who lives in Cincinnati, and Eric who lives in Honduras with his wife Nicole.
