Cheryl Lynn Church

Cheryl Lynn Church, 46, of Vincent, Ohio went to be with the Lord the evening of Thursday (Jan. 10, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on Nov. 29, 1966, in Parkersburg, the daughter of Kenneth Nicholson of Belpre and the late Linda Nicholson.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Linda (Nicholson) and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Cheryl is survived by her father, Kenneth Nicholson of Belpre, Ohio; spouse, John Church of Vincent; her daughter, Jaide Lydick; and her son, Trace Lydick of Vincent; her sister, Kim Urban of Bowling Green, Ky.; her niece, Sarah Urban; and nephew, Jon Urban of Bowling Green; adopted “sisters”, Jennifer Wheeler and Amber Monceaux; and many other cousins, aunts, uncles and close family members.

Cheryl grew up in Belpre, and graduated from Belpre High School in 1985, and from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, and Summa Cum Laude with a master’s degree in Industrial Systems Engineering. After graduation her extensive career started with GE Plastics in Washington, W.Va. and finished at PolyOne in Louisville, Ky., with stops along the way in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. Cheryl was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed helping others in any way she could.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2013) at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marietta with Pastor Steven Mahaffey officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Belpre. Visitation will be held Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
