Eileen Beardsley Hunt Nuhfer

Eileen “Peaches” Pearl Beardsley Hunt Nuhfer, 89, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away on Thursday (Jan. 17, 2013) at 4:45 p.m. at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh, N.C. She was born on April 15, 1923, in Beverly, a daughter of Charles Clarence and Nora Helen Peters Beardsley. She was a homemaker and had been employed at Marietta Laundry and St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was a Methodist by faith. Eileen enjoyed singing, dancing, gardening and cooking.

She was married to Fred Hunt who preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons and two daughters: William V. (Durlyn) Hunt of Whiting, N.J., Darlene Weaver of Clayton, N.C., Chuck (Mary Jane) Hunt of St. Marys, W.Va., Carl Hunt of Salem, Ohio, Linda (Richard) Temple of Clayton, N.C.; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She later married Lloyd Nuhfer who preceded her in death. Surviving is one daughter, Marcia (Gregory) West of Vienna, W.Va. and two grandchildren.

She is also survived by two brothers and one sister: Herbert Beardsley of Lowell, Eloise Strahler of Washington Court House, Ohio, Lloyd Beardsley of Devola and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, four children, and 13 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 25, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Green Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com.
