Hayward J. Radcliff
Hayward James Radcliff, 79, of Parkersburg, passed away on Sunday (Jan. 6, 2013) at the Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Campus.
He was born in Parkersburg, Nov. 20, 1933, a son of the late Bryan and Mabel Wiant Radcliff. He had proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, discharged in 1954. He was a member of the American Legion Post #750 of Lowell. He retired from Union Carbide/Elkem Metals as a maintenance planner after 44 years of service. After retirement he served as general manager for Custom Screen Printing. He had attended the First Lutheran Church.
He was an avid life long fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers, Dallas Cowboys, St. Louis Cardinals, NASCAR and Parkersburg High and Parkersburg South athletics.
He was a beloved and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judith A. Radcliff; sons, Hayward James Radcliff Jr. of Williamstown, Richard L. Radcliff and Deb of Fleming, Kevin S. Bradshaw of Little Hocking, Greg W. Bradshaw and Crystal of Vienna, W.Va.; grandchildren, Ryan Rader of Vienna, Gabrielle Bradshaw of Vienna, Bill Bryan of Reading, Pa.; brother-in-law, Robert Postlewaite and Yvonne of Parkersburg; mother-in-law, Sylvia J. Stephan of Parkersburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Betty McMullen, Jean Trippett; brothers, Ernest Radcliff, Kenneth Radcliff; and father-in-law, Frank P. Stephan.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post #15. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday prior to the service.
