Martha Jane Cline

Martha Jane Cline, 80, of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday (Jan. 2, 2013) at The Pines of Glenwood. She was born on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1932, in New Matamoras, Ohio to the late John and Martha Martin Collins.

Jane was a graduate of The Ohio State University and was a teacher at Marietta, Lucasville, Valley Intermediate and Frontier. She also received a Teacher of the Year award in 1968 for the Valley District of Scioto County. After retirement, she served as the Vice President of the Retired Teachers Association of Washington County. Jane was also a member of the Ladies Circle at the Christ Methodist Church and enjoyed years of square dancing and playing the piano.

Jane is survived by her husband, James, F. Cline; two sons, Charles Bryan Cline of Houston, Texas, James Allen Cline of New Matamoras, Ohio; one daughter, Suzanne Cline Henry of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three grandchildren, Rachel Cline of Houston, Texas, Kristen and Nathan McKim of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one sister, Grace Trimm of Houston, Texas; one niece, Ann Murphy; and one nephew, Bryan Trimm.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Hadley Funeral Home in New Matamoras with the Rev. Don Archer officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Online Condolences may be made online at www.hadleyfh.com.
