Barry E. Warden
Barry Edmond Warden was born on Aug. 9, 1946, to Wilbur and Evelyn Warden. He shared his childhood with his sister, Lynn Kehl, and his brother, Fred (Joyce) Warden.
He graduated from Marietta High School in 1964 and served in the United States Navy.
He proudly shared his adulthood with his children, Jennifer (Tom) Sams and Brian (Jessica) Warden. As an active member of the Sixth & Washington Streets Church of Christ, he shared his love of God with his children, leading by example.
As ‘Barry the Barber,’ he shared the lives of everyone who sat in his chair.
Later, life led him to Marietta College and Ohio University where he earned his master’s degrees. For many years, he shared his wisdom and knowledge with countless students and teachers at Phillips Elementary and Washington State Community College.
In 1996, the Lord led him to Lura Wilcoxen. In Lura, he found a constant companion, best friend, and selfless caregiver. Their shared vision of a water well in Ghana was only one of the Christian missions they embraced.
He shared love and laughter with his nieces and nephew (Staci, Craig, Angela and Julie) and his treasured grandchildren, Reid and Avery Warden and Bethany Sams.
He passed away on March 15, 2013. His parents and brother-in-law, Ron Kehl, preceded him in death.
We were all blessed with the time we shared, but know that he lived this life so he could share an eternity with God in Heaven.
