Jean Ellis Needs

Jean Ellis Needs, 87, of Beverly, died Wednesday (March 27, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta.

She was born Oct. 26, 1925, at Ellis, Ohio, daughter of Elias and Gladys Baldwin Ellis. She was a homemaker and was employed by the United Dairy Company for several years. She graduated from Waterford High School in 1943. She was a member of the Fifth Street Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star #506 and a 65-year member of the Waterford Grange. She had also been a member of the Maple Grove Club for many years. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed traveling and camping with her family.

She was married May 6, 1944, to Willard H. Needs who died Dec. 11, 2008. She is also survived by two daughters, Janet Johnsen and husband, Arthur, of Buckeye Lake and Diane Moore and husband, Philip, of Waterford; two grandchildren, Heather Moore and Brian Moore; stepgranddaughter, Brianna Jack and husband, Brad; two great-grandchildren, Addisyn and Bransen; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Dalton and Braden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Helen Griffith.

Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Evangelist Zack Waite officiating. Friends may call 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
