Harles ‘Butch’ Burdette

Harles “Butch” Eugene Burdette, 69, of Marietta, passed away peacefully, Saturday (April 6, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born Friday, June 4, 1943, in Marietta, to the late Harles and Francis Grubb Burdette. Butch graduated from Marietta High School and was employed by Patten Manufacturing before going to work at American Municipal Power in 1977, retiring in 2011.

Butch has spent the past 25 years with his wife Paula and her children Jennifer Hukill (Mark) of Lexington, Ky., Scott Fenton of Kansas City, Kan.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Jackson Fenton, Raymond, Emily and Kirstin Hukill; brother, Darrell Burdette (Francis) of Cumberland, Md.; sisters, Patty Hearn and Sue Strahler, both of Marietta.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra.

A memorial celebration of his life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday (April 13) at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Fourth and Scammel streets, Marietta. The family would like to thank Dr. Cawley and Dr. Vida for their loving acts of kindness toward Butch.
