JoAnn Seyler, 68, took her final, peaceful breath with her son, Paul Seyler-Schmidt, and his wife, Ashby on Saturday (July 13, 2013) at their residence in Mooresville, North Carolina.
She was born on June 4, 1945, to the late Paul J. and Bertha M. Seyler. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1963 and received a bachelor of art from Marietta College in 1970.
JoAnn is survived by two children, Paul and Gus Seyler-Schmidt. She is also survived by Paul’s wife, Ashby, and their children Jacob and Mackenzie; Gus’ children, Shelby and AnnaJo; and her sister, Sue Seyler Kelley.
JoAnn served as president of the Marietta Tourist & Convention Bureau and was a member of the Welfare League and Chamber of Commerce. She gave over 25 years of service to the Washington County Red Cross, retiring as the executive director in 2011. Her caring spirit always helped anyone in need.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church on Front Street, Marietta, on July 25, 2013 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
