Carlos A. ‘Shorty’ Graham

Carlos A. “Shorty” Graham, 96, of Bartlett, died on Tuesday (Jan. 28, 2014) at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 12, 1917, in Patten Mills down on Wolf Creek to the late Albert and Locia Rowland Graham.

He worked in the maintenance department for the Warren Local Schools, the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield and retired from Marietta Memorial Hospital. He served his country in WWII in the U.S. Army in Patton’s 3rd Armored Division. He was a member of the Liberty United Brethren Church near Bartlett, Masonic Lodge 293 and OES 280 both of Bartlett.

He is survived by two sons, Billy A. Graham and David A. (Patricia) Graham both of Bartlett; one daughter, Pamela E. Luallen of Springfield; five grandchildren, Jennifer Adams and Reshard Harris of Springfield, Thomas Luallen of Travis Air force Base, Brian Luallen of Springfield, Amy Bean and Tom of Barlow and Tabatha Snyder and Shannon of Bartlett; and six great-grandchildren, Alexis Adams, Sydney Adams, Malachi Harris, Cameron “CJ” Bean, Riana Luallen and Kiler Luallen. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Nellie “Betty” Gooden Graham; second wife, Hazel Roberts Graham; three brothers, Curtis Graham, Carol Graham and Carleton Graham; and a sister, Sydnia Shaner.

Services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with Pastor Charles Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Bartlett Cemetery.
