Dale E. Holshu
Dale E. “Duckey” “Sweet Cheeks” Holshu, 69, of Marietta, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on March 4, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1944, in Marietta, to Myrtle and Earl Holshu.
Music was a large part of Mr. Holshu’s life. He played in a local band for many years. He also worked in a local music store. Mr. Holshu shared his passion of music with many students who had the honor of learning from him.
Mr. Holshu was well known for his smile as you walked in the door at McDonald’s on Pike Street. His employment began on March 20, 1993. Mr. Holshu had a kind word to say about fellow employees and customers alike.
He attended Marietta High School, where he was a member of the marching band and National Honor Society, graduating in 1963. He went on to attend Ohio University, graduating in 1971, BMUS.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Williamstown, W.Va.
He is survived by one sister, Dorothy, and brother-in-law, Robert, who resides in Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his favorite cat, Randy.
There will be a memorial service held at First Baptist Church in Williamstown on March 18, 2014, starting at 6 p.m.
