Vernon Lee Anderson

Vernon Lee Anderson, 69, of Fleming, died Saturday (March 22, 2014) at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Sept. 26, 1944, in Fleming, to Carleton and Ruth Jenkins Anderson. He was a 1963 graduate of Warren High School. He had worked for Fenton Art Glass and had retired from Linde Gas.

Vernon was an avid antique gun collector, enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming, but most of all, loved his grandchildren, they were the world to him.

Surviving are his wife, Charlene Spindler Anderson, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 17; three children, Christina VanNoy (John), Eric Anderson (Tara) and Jenny Lynch (Mike Higgins), all of Fleming; grandchildren, Little Eric, Devan, and Aaron Anderson, Kendra, Kylee and Karlee Lynch, Sydney and Jayden VanNoy and great grandson, Greyson Anderson; two brothers, Eldon “Bud” Anderson (Iris) of Marietta, and Allen Anderson (Joan) of Fleming, and sister, Ann Swick (June),of Fleming, many nieces and nephews and his pets, Jose`, Rosie and Katie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Daniel, and sisters, Barbara Huffman and Betty Mercer.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday (March 27, 2014) at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with Chad Mugrage officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Warren Chapel Cemetery.
