Eileen Swaney, 91, of Marietta, passed away on Friday morning (April 11, 2014) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 19, 1922, in Marietta, a daughter of Clarence E. and Dinah Long Moore. Eileen was a homemaker and a member of Wagner Union Church. She loved to cook, bake and have family in for meals and never turned anyone away who needed help.
On April 16, 1941, she married Gerald Swaney who preceded her in death on April 27, 2011.
Eileen is survived by four children: Randy (Janet) Swaney of Marietta, Diane Spindler of Marietta, Geraldine (Tom) Swaney Yakubik of Barlow and James P. (Lori) Swaney of Marietta; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Dean Moore; several nieces, nephews and two sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Harry, Kenneth and Dale Moore; and son-in-law, Richard Spindler.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (April 15) at 10 a.m. at Wagner Union Church with Gene Ferrell officiating. Entombment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
