Julie (Buckla) Hansis
Julie (Buckla) Hansis, 88, of Hopewell Twp., passed away Dec. 4, 2014.
She was born Nov. 23, 1926, in Olyphant, Pa., and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Huntley) Buckla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hansis in 2003. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, John and Andrew Buckla, Mary Stafursky, Helen Castlegrande, and Anne Markovich.
Mrs. Hansis was an avid dancer and she loved to Polka with the love of her life, her husband, John. She was very fluent in Russian Cossack dancing. Her faith was important to her and she was a longtime member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Ambridge.
She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Carol and Joe Basile, Janet and Robert Ward, and Jack and Debbie Hansis; five grandchildren and their spouses, Vicki Basile, Mike Basile, Bethany, and Damond Windham, Jeff and Ashley Hansis, and Chris and Mia Hansis; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Buckla; three sisters, Veronica Koziar, Irene Prokipchak, and Olga Buckla; a sister-in-law, Anne Buckla; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 10:15 a.m. today, with Father William Evansky, Pastor of Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, Ambridge officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet cemetery.
