Daniel Turner

Daniel L. Turner, of Nitro, W.Va., passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015.

He was born Sept. 7, 1954, in South Charleston and was the son of the late Claude A. and Pearl Fox Turner.

Danny was a graduate of Nitro High School, Class of 1972 and attended W. V. Tech. and was a graduate of Center College in Charleston. He was formerly employed as an Assistant Manager of Customer Services for Rite Aid Corporation and the West Virginia Beverage Control Commission, as well as The Beverage Center in Nitro.

Danny is survived by his brother, Timothy Turner of Stockport, Ohio; sisters, Margaret Turner of Stockport, Ohio and Romona Thompson (Kenneth) of Charlotte, N.C; niece, Katie Bickett (Nate) of Charlotte; great-niece and great-nephew, Makaylie and Caden Bickett of Charlotte; and special friends, Bobby and Kristy Frampton.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill, Ohio, with Pastor Richard Purvis officiating. Burial will follow in the Stockport Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, Aug. 30 from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.

“Dano” was a loving, caring and gentle brother, who accepted Christ at an early age. He loved spending time with his family and was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. He also enjoyed hunting in his younger years on the farm in Ohio. He will be greatly missed.
