Charles Edward Stille, Sr.

Charlie passed away on September 22, 2016, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, with family by his side.

He was born October 22, 1950, son of Robert Dale Stille Sr. and Rebecca Ann (Wilson) Stille at Lower Salem, Ohio, at the family home.

He attended Salem Liberty High School until it was closed and graduated at Skyvue High School. He went to Brazil on a trip the year he graduated. He served in the U. S. Navy on the destroyer ship the USS Blandy in the Vietnam Conflict. He worked at Union Carbide Metals, Elkem Metals and retired from Eramet in 2007. He was an avid outdoors man, and loved to hunt and fish, camping and boating with his family and riding his Harley. He also loved to listen to and play Bluegrass music.

He was married to Patricia Faye Ritchie on April 25, 1970, at the Warner Church of Christ. She survives him with two sons, Charles E Stille Jr. and William Mason and Stephanie Stille in addition to six grandchildren, Allexander Stille, Alleyna (Josh) Stambaugh, Logan Wears, Morgan Wears, Kylee Stille and Allison Stille; one great-grandchild, Finnley Stambaugh. Surviving siblings include one sister, Jeanette Wolfert, four brothers, Robert Stille Jr., Samuel (Kathy) Stille, Blaine (Sharon) Stille and Joseph Stille. One sister-in-law, Vicki Whittle (Ray); four brothers-in-law, Bobby Ritchie (Lisa), David Ritchie, Frank (Menchu) Tieman and Lewis Thomas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Tony Arbaugh; three sisters-in-law, Susie Stille, Trudy Thomas and Shelley Ritchie; and his mother and father-in-law, Alice and Clement Tieman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. at Warner Church of Christ with Tom Fagan officiating. Burial in Tick Ridge Cemetery with military rites at the grave. Family will greet friends at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
