John Farley

John William Farley, 85, of Williamstown, W.Va., passed away Dec. 2, 2016, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 3, 1931, in Marietta to the late Sidney Ford Farley and Doris Elizabeth Waggoner Farley.

He was a graduate of Marietta High School class of 1951. He was a member of the Church of Christ. On Dec. 27, 1952, he married Geraldine Conroy of Williamstown, who preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 1999.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister and an infant brother.

He is survived by his two daughters, Stephanie Adams (Kevin) of Bradenton, Fla., and Pamela Graham (Kenneth) of Richmond Hill, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jonathan Graham of Savannah, Ga., and Codi Jones (Braxton) of Richmond Hill, Ga.; five great grandchildren; and three brothers, Sidney, David and Richard Farley.

He was a member of Williamstown Lodge #129 A.F. & A. M., Past Worthy Patron of Williamstown OES Chapter #58, a member of Nemesis Shrine and Ohio Valley and Marietta Shrine Club, Jerusalem Chapter #3 RAM, Calvary Commandery #3 KT and Scottish Rite Valley of Charleston. He was also the Past President of Marietta Fraternal Order of Eagles #458, a member of the Marietta Moose Lodge #1823 and the Marietta Fraternal Order of Elks BPOE #477, Williamstown Lions Club, Williamstown American Legion Post 159, a past member of Marietta Jaycees and Washington County Fish and Game Club. He also served in the Ohio National Guard from 1949-1953.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta, with Roger Rush officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery with a Masonic Service to follow. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday.
