Margaret ‘Maggy’ Veronica Sabol

Margaret “Maggy” Veronica Sabol, 84 of Williamstown entered her heavenly home on Monday February 26, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years Richard ‘Dick’ G. Sabol, daughters Patty Kripal (Mike), Carol Johnson (Bob), Lisa Rickert (Stuart) and son Richard S. Sabol (Tina) and seven grandchildren Abbey, Josef, Jarad, Clairisse, Sarah, Bobby, Jocelyn, and great grandchild Annabelle.

She was born in Somerville, New Jersey on October 27 1932. Margaret graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1950. On August 6, 1950, she married the love of her life Richard Sabol and the couple relocated to Williamstown in 1951.

She was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother and our family Matriarch. She was known for her contagious love for God, family and praying for others. She led her life by example of loving God and others. She was active in her Christian walk never shying away from an opportunity to pray or being an encouragement to others.

She was a stay at home mother raising their four children to have the life skills necessary to be successful in all areas of their lives. She was a gourmet cook with a European flare deeply rooted in her Hungarian lineage. Margaret was a prolific gardener raising many flowers, fruits and vegetables many of which she incorporated into her signature dishes such as stuffed cabbage. She had a love for language and was trilingual speaking Hungarian, Spanish and English. She had an appreciation and love of art and she was an avid oil painter with a focus on nature. She loved family vacations spent at the seashore.

As an entrepreneur she opened Sabol’s Dairy Bar in Williamstown in 1963 which she owned with her husband Dick; where the birth of the legendary Pizza Burger got its name and is remembered by locals today.

She greatly enjoyed her time spent with her husband of 66 years. In recent years they created together a morning ritual called ‘Chair Dancing’ a dance of singing, holding hands, shuffling in their chairs while loving and adoring each other’s company over breakfast.

Margaret’s unconditional love for all people and desire for everyone to enjoy the fullness and blessings of a life through Christ will leave a life legacy that will be long lasting.
